Culatra2030 Fund

The Culatra Energy Transition Agenda constitutes a challenge and an opportunity for the development of the community, so it is necessary to create a set of mechanisms that favor and accelerate the process of structural innovation and that contribute to the construction of a territory that is self-sustaining in terms of energy, based on renewable energies.

Funds of a local nature can be considered as socially responsible mechanisms to respond to and overcome the problems of a given community that is faced with complex environmental or social challenges, promoting the development of these communities.

The Culatra2030 Fund is a platform for solidary financial “services”, of a community and network nature, focused on supporting local economies, energy transition and environmental protection, based, among others, on the principles of Solidarity and Circle Economy.

The fund, managed in partnership by the Associação de Moradores da Ilha da Culatra, Associação Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes and Clube União Culatrense, will allow residents to access a microcredit plan to finance passive climatization and decentralized energy production at resident households. It is also intended to create jobs by streamlining the organization and management of anchorages, nautical store and service station for sailboats, collecting contributions from visitors, awareness campaigns, cultural events, crowdfunding, etc.
