Culatra Island wants to be self-sustainable

The island of Culatra, in Faro, wants to be self-sustaining. It was one of 26 European islands selected for a renewable energy pilot project. The application was submitted to the European Commission by the University of the Algarve UAlg, which will work in partnership with the residents.

The energy transition process should be completed by 2030.
