Culatra 2030 sustainable energy community

The island of Culatra could become energy sustainable within 10 years. Culatra is one of six European islands chosen to receive support from the European Secretariat for Clean Energy.

The project is called ‘Culatra 2030 sustainable energy community’ and is coordinated by the University of the Algarve. This island, located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, is inhabited by around 700 people.
